PIONEER

WINERY
Honouring the Pioneers
Overlooking the beautiful city of Moncton, New Brunswick, Pioneer Estate Winery is named in honour of the area’s first settlers. These Pioneers sought the most fertile soil in order to survive.
Our grapes grow on a south facing slope near those original homesteads and is the highest elevation vineyard in Eastern Canada at 565 feet above sea level. This unique location offers a combination of longer sun exposure and a prevailing breeze, which is part of what allows our grapes to produce our distinctive cold-climate wines.
Hardy
Grapes
Our wines are made from a combination of Frontenac Blanc, Frontenac Gris, Adalmiina and Osceola Muscat grapes –all chosen for their unique ability to survive and thrive in the harsh climate of our region.
The grapes are hand harvested and immediately crushed and pressed during the cool fall weather to preserve maximum fruit expression.
The wines are fermented slowly in oaked stainless steel at 16-18°C for 2 weeks and then aged for a year prior to bottling.
Good
Wine
With our extreme weather, harsh winter climate and very short growing season, growing grapes in this part of the world is a definite challenge. But just like the people of our region, our grapes are strong and resilient and they get the job done. When given the opportunity to shine, they will prove to be as Good as any other.

When it came time to name our signature wines, the choice was obvious. It's what we want you to say when you try it... "That's Good wine!"
